- Sahasra Deepika Outreach Program
- The Sahasra Deepika Outreach Program, generously funded by a grant from Target, opens our facility to students from the neighboring villages of Sakalavara and Mallenasandara. Children who attend the government schools in this area do not have access to music and dance instruction. The Outreach Program allows local students to join SDI students for music and dance classes. On Sundays, our music and dance teachers work with these students. At this time a few girls from the community are participating. Additionally, our small but growing library (which has also received funding from Target) is open to local students who would like to borrow books or study in a calm atmosphere. We are working on making village parents more aware of these valuable opportunities, so that their children will be encouraged to participate.
